Simply copy the BIOS file to a USB drive and boot from it.<\/strong>This method is suitable if your computer cannot boot into the system or if you have only installed RAM without an SSD.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tools to prepare:<\/strong>A USB drive (8 GB or larger),the BIOS file.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The method for updating the EC (Embedded Controller) is the same as updating the BIOS, and GEEKOM provides a file that updates both the BIOS and EC simultaneously on their website.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"858\" height=\"856\" src=\"https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DownloadFile.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2435\" srcset=\"https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DownloadFile.png 858w, https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DownloadFile-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DownloadFile-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DownloadFile-768x766.png 768w, https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/DownloadFile-12x12.png 12w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 858px) 100vw, 858px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Notice<\/mark>\uff1a<\/strong><\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>Before updating the BIOS and EC, please back up important data to avoid any unexpected issues during the update process that may cause the machine to fail to boot.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em><mark style=\"background-color:#000000\" class=\"has-inline-color has-white-color\">BIOS and EC are firmware updates, and after updating, the Bitlocker disk encryption feature in Windows 11 may be triggered. You will be prompted to provide the Bitlocker recovery key to access the system lock screen. If you are using Windows 11 and have logged into a Microsoft account, you need to disable BitLocker before updating the BIOS to avoid triggering BitLocker&#8217;s data protection feature.<\/mark> <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">If triggered, you will not be able to access the system desktop, and the data cannot be recovered; a system reinstallation will be required.<\/mark><\/em><\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><em>The tutorial for disabling BitLocker is as follows:<\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/en_ca\/faq\/how-to-close-bitloker-or-restore-bitloker-key\/\">https:\/\/service.geekompc.com\/faq\/how-to-close-bitloker-or-restore-bitloker-key\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">During the update process, do not force shutdown, disconnect power, or remove the USB drive, as this may lead to a permanent black screen.<\/mark><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Video Tutorial:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The video introduces two BIOS update methods. It is recommended to follow&nbsp;<strong>Method 2 (Starts at 1 min 13 sec in the video)<\/strong>. Especially when reinstalling the system or updating the BIOS\/EC version, it is necessary to&nbsp;<strong>disable the SecureBoot option in the BIOS in advance<\/strong>, and re-enable it after the update is complete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have not disabled the <strong>Secure Boot option<\/strong> in the BIOS menu, you may see the following prompt after selecting the USB drive to
